Ages Information
T-Ball

LL Age 4, 5, 6

"Guided by Little League's Tee Ball Program, this program is for beginner players and most players are ready to move up to Division A after one season of Tee Ball. Target team sizes are 7-8 players to provide more personal attention during practices and more reps during games. Starting after the LWSD Spring Break, there will be two one-hour "sessions" each week- practice on Wednesday evening and game on Sunday afternoon. Players learn to hit safety baseballs off of a batting tee. There is no "coach pitch" in Tee Ball. During games, all players will bat each inning and play in the field. KNLL does not use catchers in Tee Ball.

A

LL Age 5*, 6*, 7

Division A is coach pitch. Per Little League rules, 5 and 6-year olds must have one year of Tee Ball before playing in this Division.

AAA

LL Age 8 & 9*

Division AAA is "modified coach pitch". Players pitch with no walks. After the fourth ball to a batter, the batter's coach finishes pitching the at-bat. All 9-year old players must evaluate to determine if they will be placed at AAA or Coast.

Coast

LL Age 9*,10 & 11

Coast is player pitch. Players pitch 11" hard softballs from 35'. All 9-year old players must attend the Player Evaluation to determine if they will be placed at AAA or Coast. Coast placement for 9-year olds is dependent on both skill level AND if there is space on a team roster. Teams travel to other cities within our District to play (i.e. Redmond, Bellevue, etc.). Players are eligible for All-Star selection.

Majors

LL Age 10*, 11 & 12

Majors is player pitch. Players pitch 12" hard softballs from 40'. Players must attend the Player Evaluation to determine if they will be placed at Coast or Majors. Majors placement for 10 and 11-year olds is dependent on both skill level AND if there is space on a team roster. Teams travel to other cities within our District to play (i.e. Redmond, Bellevue, etc.). Players are eligible for Majors All-Star selection.

Juniors

LL Age 13 & 14

Juniors is player pitch. Players pitch 12" hard softballs from 43' like high school and college. Players must attend the Player Evaluation and are drafted onto teams for parity. Pending registration numbers, KNLL may combine with KALL to create one or more teams. At the Junior Division, teams will travel to other cities within our District to play (i.e. Redmond, Bellevue, etc.).
