2018 Softball Evaluations | Feb 3rd & Feb. 11th (tentative)

Little League requires players to attend at least one evaluation for the softball Coast Division or higher. This includes girls who played at Coast, Majors, or Juniors last year or girls who are seeking to "play up" at Coast. All players attending evaluations must be registered in KNLL before they attend a clinic so as to be covered by our league insurance policy through AIG. Failure to attend at least one evaluation session could result in a player's forfeiture of league eligibility for the season.

At the Coast Division and higher, KNLL forms teams based on parity when there is more than one team. All players will be evaluated at fielding grounders and pop flies, throwing, hitting, bunting, and running. Pitchers and catchers will also be evaluated separately. Evaluation scores are then use to form teams.

AAA players who would like to be included in the regular season Player Pool (substitute players) for the Coast Division, must also attend one evaluation.

Remember:

  • Players must be registered in Kirkland National Little League before participating in either evaluation
  • Players must bring their own gloves. Players should bring their own helmets and bats if they have them. For those that do not, there will be some on-site for use.
  • Catchers should bring their own gear if they have it
  • Participants should wear athletic clothing, white-soled gym shoes (no cleats) and a sweatshirt or light coat as we may try to hold fly ball drills outdoors
  • Players may attend both evaluations but are only required to attend one. Experience shows that unless players do serious training between evaluations, scores rarely improve.
  • After evaluations, it will be determined whether Kirkland American and Kirkland National will need to combine teams at any of the Division levels
